Teacher as Researcher:
How the Role of the Teacher Supports Emergent Curriculum

Join us for our third Symposium on Wednesday, January 13th, 2016, from 5:30-8:00 PM. Co-hosted with the Saul and Carole Zabar Nursery School at the JCC Manhattan, the focus of the evening will be on emergent curriculum. How does it develop and what are the roles and responsibilities of the teacher in supporting children's ideas and interests? What can emergent curriculum look like for 2s, 3s, 4s, and even for 2nd and 3rd graders? Presenters include teachers from schools in Manhattan who will be sharing examples of investigations and curricula that developed in their classrooms and will shed light on how children's interests and ideas can lead into larger studies.
